Giancarlo Stanton went from one homer in April to MLB's best hitter in May

Reblogged from HardballTalk:

Giancarlo Stanton homered 56 times in his first 250 career games, but when he began this season by going homerless in his first 19 games there were plenty of questions about what was wrong with the 22-year-old Marlins slugger.

It turns out, the answer was ... nothing.

Stanton snapped his homerless streak on April 29 and in 31 games since then he's hit .336 with 13 homers, 10 doubles, and a .759 slugging percentage.

A bright future ahead for Giancarlo. Wish the Mets had him though personally.

About Francisco Bernard

Born and raised in the Bronx, Francisco Bernard saw the best way out of the streets was through education. Nativity Mission Center, his middle school and the school he reveres to be the main factor for where he stands today, provided him that opportunity and by seizing it, he was able attend Loyola School in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Continuing his climb in education, Bernard got a conditional acceptance to Boston College, with the condition being he had to complete a summer program (Options Through Education) in order to attend Boston College. It was during his first semester where he realized his future would be and with it came the birth of “The Sports Scholar.” He is now a second semester sophomore at Boston College, double majoring in Communications and Sociology. Through the Emma Bowen Foundation, Bernard was able to get an internship with Fox Television Stations and was placed with the WebTeam of WNYW-FOX 5 New York, where he wrote 23 commentaries during the summer of 2012. This is only the beginning for a young man who’s destiny is to one day enter the doors of ESPN headquarters in Bristol, CT, tighten up his tie straight, look into a camera, and talk to a worldwide audience about what he loves. “Sports is my life, it encompasses everything about me. I want it all, the talk shows, radio shows, exclusive interviews, columns, the whole nine yards, because success is measured not on how much you do, but how well you do it, and if I do well in all those categories, I know I have succeeded.” Aside from his sports writing aspirations, Bernard also hopes to start a foundation geared towards educating impoverished and underprivileged youth in the streets on the United States and hopes one day for his foundation to become a global service. He hopes to offer free tutoring, scholarships ranging from books to tuition, and all the while, implementing sports into his foundation’s core. “I have seen sports play a significant role in my life. It taught me character and discipline, something that complemented my education and got me to where I am today.” “The sky is not the limit for me, because there are footsteps on the moon.” If you have any questions, comments, life stories to share, anything you would like to share, feel free to e-mail me at franciscobernard518@gmail.com You can also: Follow me on Twiiter: @illbefrankie Like me on Facebook: Francisco Bernard Follow my blog: bernardsblock.wordpress.com View all posts by Francisco Bernard
